Welcome to the '10 Walks around Lewes' website: walking guides for printing and for your smart Phone.

Walk are in the menu at the top of the page. There is an extra walk, not from Lewes, on this website.

I've also done two audio guided tours around Lewes

These walks were originally designed specifically for an ebook and for ease of reading on a  phone during the walk and therefore contain sparse text notes, crafted to keep you on route. They have been expanded here with images and maps etc.

Each waymark has an OS map ref and lat/long co-ordinates. The routes shown on the maps are  crude and outline only.

Feedback is welcome,

This is not very remote country: If you go wrong you're unlikely to disappear for ever and you'll probably be able to manage without a map. However, for your maximum enjoyment, an OS map is recommended.

Walks are between 3 and 12 miles long. Most involve a walk up the Downs and some can be broken up into shorter sections.

Links - Most places and items are mentioned in Wikis but I've tried to go for more personalised sites.

About Me Lewes walker

I'm just retired and have been hiking since I was a teenager. (NB -2021 this site was written in 2010 and barely altered since) I contribute to the website www.walkingworld.com in which you will find these walks along with about 7000 others: mostly in Britain but with a growing number in France and Spain.

I have an interest in hedge laying and apply these skills to garden hedges see Hedger
